I am a person centred Counsellor and Expressive Artist, Writing Coach and Author.
With early plans to be a primary school teacher, ill-health got in the way and I suffered with M.E (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) for the first half of my twenties. After making a full recovery by the time I was 29, I carried on playing catch up.
In getting better, I was drawn to the complementary health field because I had experienced pretty much all of it and I embarked on my counselling training and an honours degree in Health, followed by a 16+ teaching qualification. I then went on to work as a Lecturer, Counsellor, Coach and Healer. With over 18 years experience I have worked in college/university environments as well as therapeutic settings. I have integrated all my experiences into coaching, counselling, creativity, writing, art and healing.
In April 2011, my first book was published: Writing a UCAS Personal Statement in Seven Easy Steps and in July 2012, my second book was released: Creating Your First Ever CV in Seven Easy Steps. I am an external marker for the World of Work Programme at Liverpool John Moores University, where I critique and mark personal statements from Home and International students and I also support students through the university application process writing their personal statement, mentoring individuals who want to create their first ever CV and guiding people to find the right career path, using the skill set that they have.
